A towering blue panel stands as a gateway to the unknown, a threshold that invites the viewer to reflect on the eternal cycle of creation and destruction. The color blue, profound and immutable, symbolizes origin: the sky and the sea, emblems of vastness, possibility, and infinite creation. It exudes an apparent calm, a stillness that conceals the tumult of life in constant evolution.
In front of the portal rests a mound of red sand, both vibrant and fragile. Grain by grain, the sand evokes the idea of time eroding, of matter disintegrating. It is the blood of the earth, a symbol of life and death, scattering and reforming, reminding us that every living form is destined to return to dust.
The red sand contrasts sharply with the immovable monumentality of the portal, almost as if it were a sacrificial offering to the mystery of passage. The portal itself, illuminated from below, is not merely a surface: it is a metaphysical passageway, an invitation to transcend the known and face the unfathomable. It stands between two worlds, a boundary separating here and beyond, life and what follows.
The viewer is suspended in a delicate balance, like sand slipping through fingers. Creation manifests in the eternal blue; destruction, in the dissolving red mound. And yet, there is a dialogue between the two elements: the portal is not closed, and the sand is not static. Both suggest the continuous flow of becoming.
The piece invites contemplation on the journey of life, the transition from birth to death, and the return to new creation. The portal is not merely an end: it is the beginning of transformation, an eternal cycle where life renews itself beyond the threshold of the visible.
